My wife and I bought this 1988 Cougar in 1990 when it had about 28,600 miles on it. We have used it as daily driver for the past 17 years. The car came off a three-year lease program and we are the second actual owners. It has had some dings and bruises over the years but we’ve always had them repaired right away. Three years ago we had a few light rust spots repaired and part of the car was repainted. It has a JVC radio/cassette player with a remote 12 disc changer in the trunk. The changer isn’t working now.

Other than the disc changer, everything works. It has digital dash and six way power seats on both front seats. Power windows and locks. It has 200,000 miles on the 302 V8 and still delivers 23 – 24 MPG highway. We never have to add oil between changes.

Overall, this is a nice car that is good enough to be a daily driver but nice enough to keep up and see what cars of the 80’s really do have value in the future. Check out the CoolCats web site for more on these Cougars.
